The Vancouver Symphony Orchestra was founded in 1919 with a mission to enrich the City of Vancouver with high-quality music performances, educational and community programs. Over 150 concerts of classical and popular music are performed each year drawing annual attendances of over 200,000 people. The Conductors include Bramwell Tovey from the UK, Jeff Tyzik from New York, Kazuyoshi Akiyama from Tokyo, and Canadian Evan Mitchell.
